Where is Stalybridge?

Although now in the borough of Tameside, Stalybridge is in the county of Cheshire.

Stalybridge is 8 miles east of Manchester - see map below.

By Road from the East

Travelling via the M1 leave motorway at Junction 35A following A616. Take the A628 signed Manchester. Eventually take outside lane to fork right onto A6018 for Stalybridge. As you come down the hill use the directions - all town centre areas are well signposted.

By Road from the North West

Travelling via the M62 leave the Motorway at Junction 18 to join the M60(East). Leave the M60 at Junction 24 to join the M67 following Sheffield/Barnsley signs. At the end of M67 take first exit from roundabout and proceed to Mottram. At first set tof traffic lights turn left for Stalybridge, A6018 and at the mini roundabout take the first exit. The road drops down into Stalybridge and all town centre areas are well sign posted.

By Road from the South West

Travelling via the M6 leave motorway at Junction 19 to join the M56 and then M60(East). Leave the M60 at Junction 24 to join the M67 following Sheffield/Barnsley signs. At the end of M67 take first exit from roundabout and proceed to Mottram. At first set tof traffic lights turn left for Stalybridge, A6018 and at the mini roundabout take the first exit. The road drops down into Stalybridge and all town centre areas are well sign posted.

By Rail and Bus

Situated 2 mins from the town centre is Stalybridge Railway Station. The town also has two main Bus Terminals situated at each end of the town centre.
